Is Your Business Where You Want it to Be?

Is your business where you want it to be?

And how would you know?

It's not often I pop into your inbox on a Friday, but there's something special I wanted to share with you + a note of encouragement after a week of hard work.

Whe After attending the School of Styling in Nashville last spring, I realized a few things about my own business-

  1. There's always a better way to do something, but sometimes you need someone to show you how. My client experience was nothing compared to the experience Kaitlin + Kelly provided for us from surprises, stationery and florals to our welcome "speed dating" exercise to the quality of the speakers we had the chance to learn from. There are a lot of workshops and learning experiences out there, but there are few that rival the School of Styling's intimate peek behind the curtain of top entrepreneurs like Shanna Skidmore and Jess Connolly.

  2. We can accomplish more than we think is possible at first glance. It just might take a little longer than I plan for or expect it to. It's really amazing when we take a step back and consider all that's possible based on all we've already accomplished. Even if we're still in the baby biz stage, the important thing is that you took the leap, or you're at least thinking about it. And taking the leap with someone to hold your hand is so much easier than going it alone.

  3. It doesn't have to be so hard. I used to wonder if I was doing things "right," like there was some magical tool or software or VA I could find that would jump in and I'd suddenly land on the cover of Forbes. It doesn't take magic, it takes a lot of conscious, hard work laid out as a process + system. But figuring out the roadmap was the hardest thing for me- and it's kept me from earning to my full potential and held me back as someone who isn't as confident as she could be in her business. Within the past two months, I've worked hard at changing that by building a team and setting out this roadmap.

It was around this time that I saw what my fellow instructors in the School of Styling's Business Crash Course were teaching. While my module walks you through a contract from my perspective (something way cool I've never done before), the other modules are really something else. Combined, this is the small business roadmap I wished I'd had access to when I started. I would be so much farther than where I am now had I not only followed these steps but had the guidance of someone who knew their stuff. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, there's only six hours left until the cart closes. Before you break out the Ben & Jerry's and cry into a pillow tomorrow wishing you had joined us, take this afternoon to set out an intention for your business no matter where you're at, and if we fit in, you can join us here.
