Let’s be honest. A lot of online businesses (especially service-based businesses) exist in a fairly crowded market. You have a lot of competition. Even if you’ve niched down (which you have, right?!), you may still have a few other competitors prowling around your space.

Personally, I think this is a good thing.
It usually means that you have an in-demand offer and you’re much more likely to provide an exceptional and professional service to your clients. However, it’s not always easy to stand out in a crowded space — especially if you’re new. When I graduated from law school, I entered the pool with about 40,000 other lawyers 😱.

I was excited. I was intimidated. And I knew that, if I was going to succeed, I needed to do things “the Christina way.” Naturally, I had no idea what “the Christina way” was. So I played around. Once of the questions I asked when I first started was, “How can I make this easier? How can I make legal stuff more fun?” (Trust me, most people with a law degree never ask themselves those questions, which is a pretty good thing for me, I guess.) In case you didn’t know, that’s what led me to create The Contract Shop®.

For you, it may not be about how you can make things easier or more fun. Maybe you love thinking about how to make something prettier, or faster, or doing it in a non-traditional way.

How do you find that? Well, you can start by finding out what makes you and your business unique and share itGone are the days where personal and professional life can’t overlap. Lean into what makes you unique as a person, and see how you can apply that to your business. For me, that was making contracts easier and more fun for online business owners.

What is “it” for you?

Once you know what “it” is, make sure you’re sharing it. On your website. On social media. In your messaging. In your discovery calls. This small difference will make a BIG difference in the success of your business. Your ideal client will love what makes you different, and they’ll really respect the unique way you do business.

If you’re feeling stuck on what makes you stand out… check out Clients on Tap. You'll learn how to identify and share your unique value proposition and share it with the right people. It’s totally free (for now 😉) – just sign up at thecontractshop.com/clients
